2021, New Year, New Start, New Website!!!

Another year and another website to be created, where to start and what to say. Thankfully the wonderful team at Brilliant Red were only too happy to offer some much-needed help and guidance. Emma Gribben from DigitalbyEmma was also a godsend with her patience and kindly pointed us in the right direction on a few occasions.

The first challenge, what to say, not something that has ever been a problem of mine, but the thought of putting website content together is a lot more daunting than one person thinks. There is a fine line between genuinely needed content and absolutely useless waffle. The waffle spectrum was met on several occasions, more times than I am willing to admit.

The first task when anyone is struggling with which route to take, I felt it was best to build a map. I wasn’t exactly sure of the destination, but I knew it involved an interesting, attention-grabbing, eye-catching, useful, enticing, shiny new website.

I completed a lot of research, visiting lots of different websites for some ideas on what we should and shouldn’t do, trying to get the creative juices flowing. Thankfully after some starts and restarts the website content started to come together and take shape.

The next stage was the design, where I happily passed the torch to my colleague Justine who is extremely talented in creativity and design. Without breaking a sweat, Justine put together the much-needed graphics and added a splash of colour to my very dull and wordy website. The website was coming together, and we all felt like we were reaching the last sprint of the marathon.

We completed the final touches and last few checks and passed everything over to the Brilliant Red team to put everything into action. We waited patiently for the creation to be completed and then we got the call to confirm the website would go live on April 16th.

The day arrived and our team were delighted to be finally able to share, visit and promote the new website. We posted on LinkedIn, shared on Facebook and uploaded to Instagram to spread the word that the TellUsFirst™ website was ready and available.”
